TESTIMONIALS
Take a look at what some of our lovely teams had to say about their experiences with us at Enigma Escape!
They talk about what makes our building special, why our experiences stand out from the crowd, our hosting credentials and our approach to accessibility.

"Enigma Escape is an asset to Cornwall – as a county where our entertainment amenities are closing left right and centre, it’s probably one of the most unique entertainment spaces not just in Cornwall, but in the UK.
The fact that the rooms are set in a basement gives a spooky olde-worldy feel before you even cross the threshold. Considering the current rooms are set in the 1900s, and the basement provides seclusion from the noise of the City Centre, it’s really easy to forget where you are and become absorbed in the story presented to you. Unlike its competitors, often set in large commercial units, you feel like you are walking into a forgotten slice of Cornwall, tailor made for Enigma.
The mood lighting, decoration and colours in the waiting areas truly suit the rooms – especially Fear of The Unknown (Fear) - and the attention to detail is so precise that it feels like an extension of the rooms themselves.
Fear is genius! It’s an escape room but not like you have played before as all conventional rules have a unique twist. You don’t need prior knowledge to appreciate the magnum opus that is the room, but the easter eggs scattered throughout help. I know people who are obsessed with the room, repeat visitors who promote it to anyone who will listen.
It’s not just finding combinations and keys for padlocks; it’s really about using all your senses (and intuition) to find a way forward. In the rooms themselves I don’t think I’ve ever seen an exposed wire, broken prop or something that simply does not fit so you’re fully immersed from the time you enter to the time you leave. Having spent time in various escape rooms across the South West and London I can’t tell you how rare that is.
As someone with a form of colour blindness (I am shade blind) it can be really difficult at times to feel fully included in an activity. At Enigma however there are so many different types of puzzles that I am never without something to do. The hosts are all friendly and accommodating too, nothing is too much trouble and if we ever had an issue, I feel confident and safe that they would be more than capable in assisting.
It’s a real treat watching the evolution of Enigma and I can’t wait to see what comes next!"

"Oli and his team at Enigma Escape are welcoming and professional. Their passion for what they do is apparent and always happy to answer inquiries you may have. The room designs are excellent and a great use of the space within the basement location in Truro. The experiences have always impressed our teams and always come out exceptionally happy. The Mini escapes they bring for promotional events have been great fun.
The biggest draw for me is the atmosphere. Creative use of the space has led to some great innovations. ‘The Bletchley Test’ and ‘Operation: Mincepie’ are both set in a replicant of a WW2 Anderson Shelter, the puzzles are different and the feeling within plays well to the play space.
But my favourite is ‘Fear of the Unknown’. This Lovecraft inspired adventure is an experience like no other. I’ve done my fair share of escape rooms in my time, but this is my favourite. It’s like you’re characters in a film following the trail of clues and mysteries. The atmosphere you can literally soak in. Oli and the team absolutely nailed this and I’ve come back again to do it with a new team.
I thoroughly recommend Enigma Escape to all coming into visit Truro and can’t wait for the new room to open up!"

"I just want to say a massive thank you for your support and understanding when I phoned and spoke to Oli. I explained I had a disabled daughter who uses a wheelchair, you told me there wasn’t wheelchair access but if we could get our daughter down the few steps at the front and carry the wheelchair down it wouldn’t be a problem.
We did this without any issues and found we didn’t need the wheelchair inside because you provided enough seating opportunities for her to sit down. Our games leader Megan provided a chair for her to sit in and watch us whilst we did the escape room. I wouldn’t hesitate to take her back when another opportunity arises."

"Enigma Escape Cornwall is by far the best and one of the most creative escape rooms in Cornwall. The staff always go above and beyond for their guests and really help to immerse you in the story! My favourite room they have created is Fear of The Unknown, a phenomenal story, fully immersive and the detail within the set is insane, not only for the puzzles its self but the hidden nods to classic horror memorabilia.
Enigma also frequent local events like the local comic con and put on table top escape room/puzzles completely free to not only get people excited about their escape rooms, but just to be part of the local community! I cannot wait to see what they do next! I cannot fault the team at Enigma they are very generous and friendly people and deserve everyone to know how fantastic they are at creating a fun and challenging environments.
They are truly amazing and cannot wait to play again!"
